Good question. The obvious choices: Shut Up and Play Your Guitar, Joe's Garage, Saarbrucken 9-3-78, and I'd be willing to bet those 1978 Halloween shows on DVD are instructional, before Vince got too camera shy.

I have heard that Vin is also on 1 of the "You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore?" volumes... & if so, has any1 heard it & how is it? Hard to find?....

Actually, the 1978 Halloween is not a DVD in the sense of having moving pictures along with the music... It's a "picture disc", kind of like a cd but with a still picture to every song...
The only "video" material on the disc is the "Dancing Fool" clip from SNL and a rendition of "Suicide Chump" in black and white...
Too bad...
If you can find it though, the 1978 video called "We don't mess around" shot in Germany features some great Vinnie moments... arguably the best piece (humour-wise) is the seal-call and tiny percussion solo by Vinnie (no joke, this really happens...)
I also highly recommend the "I don't want to get drafted" single of off "The lost episodes" just for proving that IMO Vinnie's feel was not at all stiff when playing with Zappa; he absolutely grooves his ass off on this track...

BEST zappa albums?
I have joes garage, i've got Zoot with Bozzio and apostrophe but theres 2000 others too choose from. Anyone shed some light?
